Thailand attracts 4,848m THB from Japanese MICE in 2018

Japanese MICE travellers will continue to grow in Thailand (with Conferences and Exhibitions) by 5{3fa1768a34f590735d448042a6c3256e40839d9d51c629aaab52c6482db8b206} in 2018, with 52,723 MICE travellers, generating 4,848 million Thai baht in revenue for the country. And bringing atleast 10 large MICE projects into Thailand in 2018 and 2019

Japanese MICE – Bullish on Destination Thailand

japanese-MICE-tcebThailand positions itself as a premium and top business events destination for Japanese MICE travellers and operators. To achieve its objective the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB, along with the ‘Thai Team’ which includes Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), invited over a 100 influential Japanese MICE entrepreneurs and organised a road show in Japan to promote Thailand’s MICE industry.

The extremely successful roadshow activity attracted atleast 10 large business conferences and exhibitions to be held in Thailand, generating about 4,848 million thai baht from the Japan MICE travellers in the year 2018.

The destination Thailand and the upcoming MICE cities like Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Khon Kaen, and Krabi have an impressive exhibition infrastructure for large expos. Based on the readiness of the destination and its MICE facilities, the Japanese operators are interested in organizing business events in Bangkok.

Thailand International Truck Show

Some of the confirmed MICE events in 2018-19 include international exhibitions from the Health and Wellness, Gastronomy, and Recreation space. In 2020, events related to Drones, Organic products, and Gaming Industries are all set at the destination. The International Aerospace Quality Group is considering Asia Pacific Aerospace Quality Group Meeting (APAQG) in Thailand for the second time in 2018-19. The International Union of Radio Science has a plan to organise the General Assembly of the International Union of Radio Science (URS) in 2023.

The most impressive on the list is the Thailand International TRUCK Show (TTS) – a B2B trade expo based on development of transportation by trucks. TTS 2019 will be the show’s third edition following the success of its first and second editions held in 2015 and 2017.
