Kashmir for Incentive Travel
200 Indian Bank Officers and Senior executives made Srinagar (in Kashmir) their abode for a three nights and four days. The valley hosted 200 executives of a leading private sector bank in India for a four-day MICE convention and Rewards and Recognition program. The move is expected to give a boost to the city tourism and more enterprises are expected to choose Srinagar and other picturesque destinations of Kashmir for MICE and Group Incentive Travel.
The four-day program was a mix of Official Conventions during the day and leisure evenings to showcase the best Kashmir has to offer. The executives felt enthralled with the beauty of the destination, the locals, the food, the art and crafts, the gardens and the lakes, the mountains, the culture and the souvenirs.
A spokesperson from the Kashmir Tourism Department said that other large corporates too have been considering to choose Kashmir as the destination for Corporate Incentive Programs, (but given the element of fear in the past), for their future group MICE travel. He shared that if Corporate Travel increases in Kashmir, it will clear the negative image the state has had over the past decade and more. And this shall have a multiplier effect on the economy of the state. The youth of the state are in favour of non-violence, tourism growth, employment and similar initiatives; and Corporate Group Incentive Travel and MICE can help Kashmir revive its lost charm. Just one event has helped boost the image, imagine what MICE can do for the state.
Kashmir has a famous, 750-delegate International Convention Centre – the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) which is used as a multi-purpose venue for MICE Conferences and Entertainment Programs. The hi-tech Centre has simultaneous interpretation facility in 6 languages and other state-of-the-art facilities.
